Then there were three. The current Mardels consist of Mario, Duke and Joe.Unfortunately, Crop left the band on 7/21/18. Adjustments have been made and our sound still features great vocals and solid music and we will continue to play music of the 60's and 70' but will add more 80's and 90's music. Mario will assume more guitar work, play less bass and Joe will assume more bass responsibilities on his keyboard so we can continue to keep our repertoire. Crop will be missed but the show must go on. No worries, we've already played s gig as a trio and everyone said we sounded great. Check the calendar to see when and where we play.

The Mardels want to thank the enthusiastic crowd at the Ray's Corner and LPG reunion celebration at St. Anthony's Club, that not only stayed to the end of the gig but urged on encores to keep the night going. It was great to see so many familiar faces. This is becoming an annual event.
The Mardels would like to say "Grazie" and we always appreciate the loyal support and following from our fans and the annual events we play each year including this year's St Anthony's Italian Festival. We had blast as the weather was great and so was the crowd. We play on the only Saturday of the Festival and this past Saturday 6/16/2018, the Mardels once again performed over 70 songs as they rocked the Nona Strada venue from 4:00 to 10:30PM. Next year mark your calendars and come out again and enjoy a great day of classic rock. Bouna Festiva.
The Mardels would like to thank those that hung out all day at the DeerPark for the 2018 Food and Brew Fest through the pouring rain. Everyone had a good time and we hope to play there again as usual next year.
New for us last year was a wonderful gig at the Durney Post right after Labor Day weekend. This year over Memorial Day weekend we were rained out (B000000)) BUT.....the gracious Durney Post has scheduled another Pig Roast for us to play on a Saturday in early September. It's open to all for a fee. Stay Tuned or look on our gig calendar on this website for details.
Also new last year was a gig at the Newark Country Club. We hope to have another gig there late in the summer or early Fall
Stay Tuned for the possible appearance of the Mardels at the Salesianum High School Reunion in October for our 50th Year High School Reuinion.

We also want to thank the clubs that have and continue to book us and we hope to become regulars: St Anthony's Club in Wilmington, DE, St Anthony's Club, New Castle, and Newark Country Club , and possibly St. abe's in New Castle, as well as the Private Parties and Reunions we play.

The Mardels are a Delaware band that was originally formed in 1964 and played the Tri-State area from 1964-1968. Reunited in 2008 with a couple of personnel changes they have been back together since 2008 and are back in the groove and rocking hard once again. While mainly featuring music from the Sixties and Seventies, their repertoire can be contoured to their audience or the venue, playing tunes from the Eighties as well as some late 50's rock 'n roll. Three original members, Mike (Duke) DelGrosso on drums, Dave (Crop) DeJoseph on guitar and bass, and Mario Frabizzio on guitar and bass were joined for 4 years by Joe Nacchia on lead vocals and for 3 years by Joe (Pitch) Piccirilli on keyboards. All members played in bands throughout the mid-sixties (and beyond) and vocals are a highlight of this band as all members contributed both lead vocals and background harmonies. However, as time passed, both Joe's (Nacchia and Piccirilli) "retired" from actively playing music and are no longer with the Mardels. After searching for replacements the Mardels found another Italian musician named "Joe" (go figure) who was a willing new member, Joe Cincotta who, as a 44 year old now 49, really showed his wares and was a natural for this band. Joe is a very talented musician who is an amazing keyboard player and sings as well, mostly background vocals but as is typical of the Mardels, he found songs to sing lead vocals on. It was only a matter of time. Of course it's hard to replace such a great lead singer like Joe Nacchia and fill the shoes of such a talented keyboardist as Joe "Pitch" Piccirilli but the 4 standing Mardels have done a nice job with the current lineup, readjusting the vocal leads and harmonies, adding new songs while keeping the repertoire everyone comes to hear the Mardels play with the 4 members working harder than ever. Joe adds the abilty to play a mean bass on the organ and frees up Crop and Mario to do some great songs with more intricate guitar leads and fills, allowing us to add many new songs.
Unfortunately. right before our last gig at the Food and Brew Fest on Sat 7/21, Crop left the band and so now there are three. We were able to pull off the gig without a hitch despite the rain and without Crop. The Mardels will continue to perform as a trio and will broaden their repertoire to include songs of the 80's and 90's which should help accommodate more gigs in both smaller venues as well as those that want more current music. We will still be able to power our way in those large outdoor venues so hopefully not much will change although we will feel the loss of Crop, an original Mardel member.
WE HOPE YOU GET A CHANCE TO COME OUT AND HEAR US PLAY. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
The songs the Mardels play are still familiar and popular, and the audience response has shown that we play songs that other bands overlook and it is not unusual to see the audience not only dance to their sets but also stand up and sing lyrics as the band plays. We will still be jamming at some local bars and private clubs down Rehoboth way, as well as some local private clubs, festivals, parties, and High School Reunions. The Mardels remain a band that everyone should experience. Let's Rock 'N Roll.
